Re-

Much if not all my work revolves around this prefix.  Everything from my choices of subject matter, to the recycling of imagery and materials, to my belief that all things are cyclical, echoes Re’s definition.  To me it is all encompassing, and ever present.  I see it in every leaf, born a bud which will eventually wilt, rot, and nourish the roots so that the tree may sprout again. 

Occurring originally in loanwords from Latin, used with the meaning “again” or “again and again” to indicate repetition, or with the meaning “back” to indicate withdrawal or backward motion: regenerate; refurbish; retype; retrace; revert; reincarnate; rebirth; recycle; relive

1.indicating return to a previous condition, restoration, withdrawal, etc. rebuild; renew; retrace; reunite; reprint

2.  indicating repetition of an action; recopy; reproduce; appropriate; replicate

 Verbs beginning with re- indicate repetition or restoration. It is unnecessary to add an adverb such as back or again.
